Who is EPMB? Well…

That feeling you get when riding a roller coaster;

The first time you lock eyes with that special someone;

The moment after you slam six Red Bull’s and yell, “It’s go time!”

That’s EPMB.

When you girlfriend says, “I want it now!”

She’s talking about EPMB.

If Bill Withers and Maroon 5 had a love child,

They would probably call it EPMB.

And if you’ve ever wondered what southern roots rock feels like when it collides with funky soul, come out to the Corporate Battle of the Bands at Antone’s on April 28th at 9:00PM to see what everyone is talking about.

“Achachay! Is the brain- child of three hyperfunkadelicsuperbadslappin’ dudes from Austin, TX. They seek to bring the groove to you on the dance floor. If Achachay! was pulled over, the cops would charge them with possesion of funk and the intent to distribute. Every Achachay! concert is a scene and a party; their ruckus shows leave music lovers demanding more.

In an effort to spread their joyous music to everyone on this thirsty planet, they have played hundreds of shows and completed five national tours in just under two years.

Jordan, Ryan, and Hooch are fun, funny, and intelligent people. They care about many things such as gorillas, raising people`s consciousness, lowering the drinking age, protecting the environment (veggie-diesel), and changing what is considered “popular music”.

They are especially excited to be Thirsty Planet’s Artist of the Month because of the Brewery’s dedication to the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund and the Austin Gorilla Run. As co-founder of the Austin Gorilla Run, big time sponsor, and performing artist after the race, Achachay! got to see Thirsty Planet’s dedication to their purpose first hand. They live up to the ideals of simultaneously loving beer, people, and the environment. In this way, Thirsty Planet and Achachay! are a match made in heaven.

This music is about Achachay! pouring their hearts out to you, and you pouring `em right back out to us. We hope you love it! “

Austin purists Soul Track Mind incubated their songs in the low-slung Eastside juke joint TC’s Lounge, cultivating a raging Wednesday night scene until the dance floor literally caved in. The band are preservationists of 60′s and 70’s soul, resurrecting the groove with blue-skies melodies and haunting slow-dance croons on debut LP “Ghost of Soul.”

Over the last two years, whirlwind front man Donovan Keith and the dapper disciples of Soul Track Mind have become synonymous with raucously entertaining live shows. From house parties to the home of the blues, Antone’s Nightclub, and increasingly outside the friendly confines of the Live Music Capital of the World, Keith stirs crowds to a frenzy, begging the question “Has James Brown returned in the form of this maniacal redhead?” (Examiner).

Performer Magazine raves “[he] proves that white boys do have soul…with his unbridled enthusiasm and dance moves.”

To capture this frenetic live energy on Ghost of Soul, the band enlisted the help of legendary producer-engineer Stuart Sullivan who has also bestowed his golden touch on seminal releases from Pinetop Perkins and WC Clark to Eric Johnson and Sublime.

With a sold-out album release party in Austin and a string of well received appearances since, Soul Track Mind is indeed becoming a force to reckon with in the modern soul genre.

Nick Kraus is an exceptional singer-songwriter who has been filling the bars and honky-tonks of Central Texas with his unique blend of alt-country rock for the past four years. He is backed on vocals and bass by his wife Kayt. The duo originally met while Nick was playing guitar in an instrumental trash-rock band for the now defunct Kalamazoo Precinct of Women Wrestlers (KPOWW). Together they moved to Boston where they founded the still strong Boston League of Women Wrestlers (BLOWW) while Nick attended Berklee College of Music. In 2005, they decided to leave cold weather and their punk rock roots behind and head to Texas, where Nick Kraus and his Austin Torpedoes was born. Dixie Yoder joined the band in 2007, adding her exceptional violin skills to emulate Nick\’s poignant lyrics. Matt Winegardner rounds out the quartet on drums. They have produced two full-length albums and have toured throughout the great state of Texas and the Southern U.S. Visit them at www.nickkrausandhisaustintorpedoes.com

Gravity Kills struck it big in St. Louis, MO in 1995 when they wrote a song for a local radio station compilation CD, that song was “Guilty”, which helped land them a recording contract with TVT Records. “Guilty” was featured on ESPN’s “X-Games Volume 1” CD and featured in the motion picture Seven. Gravity Kills went on to release 3 full length albums, self-titled “Gravity Kills”, “Perversion”, “Superstarved” and one re-mix CD “Manipulated”. Gravity Kills officially broke up in 2003. They played the very first Edge Birthday Bash in 1996, and returned again in May 2007 to headline the 12th Edge Birthday Bash.
