Taste Testing at Skinny Bob’s

Friday, June 3rd, 2011

Wow, Friday came fast this week! It probably had a lot to do with the three day Memorial Day weekend we all enjoyed. Who’s complaining about a short “work” week though…not us and hopefully not you either!

So check it out, tonight at 6:30 PM (just less than 4-hours away) we’ll be hanging with the good folks at Skinny Bob’s Billiards in Round Rock for a taste testing of our three most popular brews: the Yellow Armadillo Wheat, the Thirsty Goat Amber, & the Buckethead IPA!

Looking forward to seeing you out tonight!

Cheers!

Cupid Fun Run

Sunday, February 20th, 2011

One of the many things we enjoy most, and a key contributor to us starting Thirsty Planet in Austin are the people that make up this great city. We are lucky to have the opportunity to meet so many of you at the brewery during our weekly Saturday tours and tastings; if you haven’t signed up for a tour and tasting yet please do. There are also the many bars and restaurants that not only have our beers on tap, they often invite us out for a brewer’s pint night to meet and greet with all of you. In addition to the time we have with all of you at the brewery, local bars and restaurants, we receive a number of invitations to fun events around town to come serve up our beers and meet with all of you.

Earlier this week we were invited out by the good folks at Texas Running Company to participate in their 2011 Cupid 5K Fun Run. The run started at Texas Running Company’s 5th St. location and took us around our beautiful State Capitol and back. It was great to see so many Austinites out and about with their significant others…we yelled a “Happy Valentine’s” to many of you as we ran by. At the end of the run we celebrated and toasted each other a Happy Valentine’s Day with our Yellow Armadillo Wheat.

This was yet another great opportunity for us to meet and great with local Austinites who are all about “Keeping Austin Weird,” and looking for any excuse to enjoy great beer…as if anyone needs an excuse to enjoy good beer.

Cheers!

Our Porter Needs a Name

Sunday, January 16th, 2011

Yesterday we served up our first porter batch at the brewery. We are really enjoying it and the reaction we received from all of you who tried it was overwhelming positive and beneficial to us. It’s through your feedback that we are able to tweak and perfect our brewing recipes to best satisfy your taste buds.

That is one of the things we enjoy most about craft brewing; especially here in Austin. We are part of the community and we could not have enjoyed the success we are having if it were not for your support and valuable feedback.

So we are calling on you, our Thirsty Planet fans, for additional feedback about our new porter.

In addition to creating the best possible recipe, we are asking for your help in naming this new brew that will soon be part of the Thirsty Planet line-up.

On tap today we have the Yellow Armadillo Wheat, the Thirsty Goat Amber, and the Buckethead IPA. What name for our new porter do you think best compliments our existing line-up?

Bring it on Austin and Thirsty Planet fans from around the globe; let your creative juices flow and share your porter naming ideas with us.

Cheers!
